Growzen — AI-Powered Commerce SaaS for African Sellers

The brief

Small and mid-size African sellers were drowning in tools — WhatsApp for orders, Excel for inventory, a separate payment link for each customer, and no insight into what was actually working. Growzen needed a single platform where a seller could run their entire business from one tab.

What we built

• Multi-tenant SaaS — every seller gets an isolated workspace with their own brand, products, customers, and team.
• Order & product management — full inventory, pricing tiers, variants, and stock alerts.
• WhatsApp campaigns — broadcast to segmented customer lists straight from the dashboard, with delivery and read tracking via the WhatsApp Cloud API.
• Integrated payments — Paystack and Flutterwave checkout flows with reconciliation built in.
• AI assistant — an embedded GPT-4o-powered assistant that answers seller questions, drafts product descriptions, and analyses sales trends in plain English.
• Analytics & insights — revenue, top customers, stock turnover, and channel performance.

How we built it

The stack is Laravel 12 + Inertia.js with Vue 3 on the front end — chosen for tight server/client coupling, fast iteration, and a single codebase for two-thirds of the team. AI features sit behind a queue: the assistant runs asynchronously so the UI never blocks. WhatsApp messaging routes through a worker pool with retry and rate-limit handling.

Multi-tenancy is row-level with a tenancy middleware that scopes every Eloquent query, every storage path, and every cached key — no chance of one workspace leaking into another.

Outcome

Growzen is live at growzenapp.com and onboarding sellers across Nigeria. The platform proves that a single team in Lagos can ship a product feature-competitive with anything coming out of Shopify-adjacent ecosystems — built natively for the African seller.
