Golden Tulip Rosa Villa Hotel — Marketing & Online Booking Platform
A high-conversion marketing and online booking website for Golden Tulip Rosa Villa Hotel, Owerri — a premium hospitality property under the globally recognised Golden Tulip brand. Cinematic UX, real-time room availability, and bank-transfer checkout.
The brief
Golden Tulip Rosa Villa Hotel — a premium hospitality property in Achike Udenwa Estate, Owerri, under the globally recognised Golden Tulip Hotels & Resorts brand — needed a website that did the job of a five-star concierge: convince a guest at first glance, take a booking without friction, and run for years without a dependency soup.
The brief was specific: feel as polished as the international Golden Tulip portfolio, but ship on infrastructure the hotel’s own IT team could operate. No JavaScript frameworks, no Composer, no npm. Just PHP and MySQL on whatever host the hotel chose.
What we built
A complete marketing and booking platform with:
- Cinematic landing page — four-slide auto-rotating hero with the hotel’s signature aerial sunset shot, complemented by warm scroll-reveal animations.
- Sticky quick-booking bar anchored to the bottom of the hero — check-in, check-out, guest count, and room type captured in one row, one click to availability.
- Four room categories — Classic, Superior, Deluxe and Executive Suite — each with its own detail page, photo gallery and amenities matrix.
- Seamless booking flow — live total calculation, date-range validation, instant reservation reference, polished confirmation experience.
- Bank-transfer checkout — the dominant payment pattern for Nigerian hospitality bookings. Confirmation page provides transfer details, amount due, and a quoted reference number that guest support can match against incoming payments.
- Contact & enquiry capture — every enquiry persisted to the database with reply tracking.
- Amenities, dining, meetings, gallery pages — the full marketing surface a five-star hotel needs.
- Mobile-first responsive — collapses to a single-column layout with off-canvas navigation below 768px.
How we built it
The brief told us most of the architecture: vanilla PHP 8 on PDO, MySQL 8 for storage, HTML/CSS/JS by hand. No build step, no framework. Drop it on any PHP-capable host and it runs.
The visual language is anchored in Cormorant Garamond for editorial display and Montserrat for body — a gold-on-cream palette, plenty of whitespace, restrained motion. The result feels like a serviced apartment in the Algarve, not a Lagos website. We tested every page against the international Golden Tulip portfolio to make sure the bar matched.
For booking, the date validation is server-side (you can’t trust client dates), the room inventory is calculated on each request (small property — no need for caching games), and the reservation reference is generated atomically so two simultaneous bookings can’t collide.
Outcome
A working marketing-and-bookings property that punches at the same visual weight as Golden Tulip’s global flagships — running on infrastructure the hotel team owns end-to-end, with zero npm dependencies, zero build steps, and zero ongoing platform fees beyond hosting.
When a guest in Lagos searches for “luxury hotel Owerri” on a 3G connection, this site loads in under two seconds, looks like a million dollars, and takes the booking. That’s the entire point.
