Droptlc — Driver-First Logistics Marketplace
A two-sided logistics marketplace built around drivers — onboarding, verification, real-time matching, marketplace listing, admin oversight, and a PWA-ready front end.
The brief
A logistics operator wanted to build a marketplace that put drivers first — not as gig workers squeezed by an algorithm, but as the centre of the product. That meant rich onboarding, transparent matching, and admin tooling that the operator could actually trust.
What we built
- Driver onboarding & verification — staged KYC with document upload, vehicle inspection, and admin approval.
- Marketplace listing — drivers and dispatch jobs visible with filters, ratings, and availability.
- Real-time matching — when a job is posted, eligible drivers are notified and can accept; matching logic balances proximity, rating, and load type.
- Customer-facing PWA — progressive web app for shippers to post and track jobs without an app store install.
- Admin oversight panel — full visibility into drivers, jobs, payments, and disputes.
- Email & SMS notifications — transactional flows for every state change.
How we built it
PHP 8 + MySQL on Apache — chosen for cPanel-friendly deployment so the operator can host on their own infrastructure. Real-time updates use a combination of polling for the matching screen and server-sent events for the dispatch console.
Driver and shipper documents are stored in private object storage with signed-URL access — no public S3 buckets full of ID cards.
Outcome
A driver-centric logistics platform that addresses last-mile delivery on the operator’s terms, with a tech stack that they own end-to-end and can deploy from their own cPanel host.
